My Computer is Done

FUCKING A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night in chat I was going through hell trying to update my Windows XP Home to XP Pro.


Well just before I went to bed at 3:40am I thought hey lets just uninstall Service Pack 2. That is the problem becuase Service Pack 2 won't let you change anything. (one of the things I extremely hate about SP2). Well it worked I sat there looking at a Black Screen for 10-20min after it restarted but it finally loaded and I could run XP Pro install. So in the middle of the install I get this error:

I get the following error with unregmp2.exe during compnent registration "The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library msdart.dll"

So I research it on the net. Basically everyone has gotten that error and you just have to click OK 80+ times or leave it alone because the install keeps going in the background. Well now I have my 3rd computer that has been sittin in a corner up and running as my central server for storing "Naughty Movies", Music, and what not.

I don't recommend anyone doing this if you can help it. But if you do this I decided to post up how to since it only took me forever to figure the shit out. Glad I didn't :whiteflag becuase its currently loading up XP Pro as I type. :hooray

lol... that's because they didn't make/rip the copy properly... they're suppose to change a setting in Nero or Easy CD Creator in order to copy the CD properly... it has to do with a file name setting... :twisted:

well people posted up that the were re-installing Windows from a the original CD and getting it.. Must be something to do with an update and then trying to go back..

hmm... strange... I never got that with XP, XP SP1, nor XP SP2 CDs... and I'm talking about original CDs on client PCs... anyway this is a good reason why you should slipstream your XP into XP SP2... :mrgreen:
