Xbox360 vs. PS3

The only problems I see with the new Xbox right now is the fact that they are marketing the thing to non-hardcore users. The press release that I watched talked about the system basically as a marketing device more than a gaming system. As far as I'm concerned the current Xbox has more than enough power to please me for awhile still but the PS2 is lagging hardcore. It's going to be a tough choice on which system to get but I think that a PS3 will match up nicely with my PSP :D

The Xbox360 is suppose to retail at about $300 and the PS3 between that and $400... we'll have to see about final prices but I hope they arn't much more than that.

as far as i was concerned pc gaming has been dead for a couple years now, with the price of a new video card reaching 600+ dollars i'd rather spend that on a ENTIRE system with all the controllers and games. pc gaming hardware is either going to get really cheap in the next year or it's done for :gtfout

the vid systems in the current genereation of xbox/ps2 as well as the new ones coming out will be maxed within a year.......

pc can always out perform a console, as long as the software is written that way.....

that is very true, i remember back in the days of 3dfx when glide games outperformed/outlooked any directx or opengl game.. it would be nice for a standard to come about but thats never going to happen

i know a guy who can load a Xbox HD with all of the NES, SNES, Genesis, and Xbobx fgames to run on jsut the Xbox

you're both wrong :P first off installing emulators on an xbox is cheap and easy i just put in this one last night in corey's xbox

second: you don't run linux but instead a diffrent dashboard than the original M$ one it has been compiled by the XDK just like any xbox program and isn't dependent apon an OS like linux

that's impossible, the xbox has no way of inputting/compressing video....
on the other hand it is very possible to take the videos off a tivo's hard drive and play them on the xbox via xbox media player or xbox media center

that's what i thought too until the xbox and ps2 came out, the popularity of these things skyrocketed because they had what used to be only found on the pc, network gaming. i will say that i can handle a kb/mouse combo way better than a controller any day, but that doesnt make pc gaming any less dead :corn

I too have seen this and know the fella who does it...even was gonna give me a full how to to do it but I was undecided if I wanted to add the xbox at the time.

he has a some huge ass hard drive built in his and knows where to "steal" the games....he showed me what he had and it was the equivalent of 8 gaming systems combined.

thought that was pretty cool to have all of budhas old ass atari games to be able to play. :comperror
