make sure you have the newest version of java installed
http://www.java.com

or just use a better irc client
http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/X-Chat-Aqua.shtml

server: irc.dsm.org
channel: #bikes

Ha ha It works now since I turned my firewall off :corn :banghead Funny r1forum works with it on :liftyou just need to allow the right things in the firewall.
you should be able to just add the java client to the allow list on the firewall settings versus shutting it ddown.
you may have done that on the r1forum chat, which is why it works.

Did you get the popup window to allow the java applet?
if so click yes, if not turn off the popup blocker and allow java to run.

or if you are using IE, and do not haqve java installed, use the link supercoe supplied and download it first.

No popup, popup blocker is off and downloaded the updated java and still

Unable to connect : com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx : cannot connect to "irc.dsm.org" :whiteflag

Unable to connect : com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx : cannot connect to "irc.dsm.org" :whiteflagthat means that the certificate for the java applet has not been approved.

Open up the Java Control Panel, click on the certificates tab, and then click on the reset button.

basically, for some reaqson, you're not allowing the certificate (which must be allowed) which is causing the error.

worst case, download this file click (www.r1budha.com/chatcert) (right clck save as......)

and use the import on the control panel to import the certificate.
