I was pretty much hooked on the Xbox360 untill I saw Microsofts dayview and got a lil dissapointed. The PS3 would go soooo well with my PSP but with Microsoft saying they will "support" the PSP and if the "running at 25%" is true it's a toss up now.
An interesting rumor? Or a tantalizing fact? Who knows? The rumor doing the rounds though is that the PS3 demos at E3 were on machines only running at 75% of their potential.
The story goes that the Cell chip in the development kits runs at 2.4ghz, whereas the final beast itself will run at 3.2ghz. Couple that with the fact that the GPU wasn’t the one that the system will ship with, and that leads folk to believe, as a famous person once said, that “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
Of course MS have claimed that the Xbox 360 demos were running at only 25% of the systems potential.
How long before Kutaragi and Gates just go ahead and whip it out and compare sizes?
uuhhhhhhhhh... my head hurts

I'll probably wait for the PS3. Backward compatibility on all games sounds cool to me. I love moto GP on PS2 better than on Xbox. I like having more control over the power. I feel fast when I can back it into corners. I cant do that on the Xbox version... :(

ummm... So yes or no??? my friend said Blu-ray wont play old PS games. and the only reason the X-box will kick ass is because the graphics card the processors aren't used to full capacity by the developers cuz its too hard to program that way

Tell your friend to stop talking unless he learns how to read articles about these systems then :P :1poke
It will play ps1 and ps2 games as well as dvd's and audio cd's, the ps3 discs will be blueray.
As far as developers not using hardware to the full capacity... that has been true for a long time. Check out any launch title for any system then check out the titles that came years later they usually look much better because the developers are more used to the capabilitys of the hardware. From a programmers standpoint I'd say the xbox360 will be way easier to code for, microsoft has done a great job with directx on the pc and has a very similar SDK for the xbox360 as they did with the original xbox. The ps2 is a pain in the ass to code for but sony has *suposidly* made the cell processer much better but how much better is still up in the air.
