Ok 2 things bro.....
that link for dvd decryptor sent me to some place saying it was no longer availiable and he was in some sort of trouble for what he had done by a "certain" company....dont know what that was all about?
and 2.......I need a big ass flash drive (or some form of media drive that I can pull old info off of my desktop and move to laptop and do on my own time and take it easy.....
I just saw this 80 gig flash drive "pen"...those any good?
think it was like 70-80 bucks...not too bad of a price I assume....came with usb cables etc....just looked like a pen instead of a mini plug in

Here ya go, I saved it so you could download it but you said you had it so I didn't post up then....
As far as the pen's, I have no idea...... Budha will respond and hook you up..
How much data do you have to transfer?
I use a portable USB hard drive to transfer stuff that doens't have a network connection... about 150 bucks for a 100GB...

R1Lover, what does that do?

I believe it allows you to copy a DVD to your pc and then you can burn it or just watch it on your pc. I haven't tried it out yet. Budha recommended it for copying dvd that are incrypted so you can't copy them...

according budha its the best and there will be no updates as the dude got busted for it...this is the last version but its legal to have.....and I wanted to simply put movies on here in compressed format anyways.....since I am using the aptop in the car to play movies instead of carying a huge ass folder full of music...movies etc.....auxilariy plug in kicks ass!!
now when we out where ever I can have any movie I have on here and play through my whole stereo system and still keep in touch.....jeezus Im turning into a geek. ;) lol
there are some I wanna burn to dvd discs but thats for the ex to have as we have been swapping movies back in forth for about 5 months now....too much work so I gonna go to her place and copy all of em and be done....and likewise ones she wants but cant afford to get right away I just gonna copy for her

yeah, dvd decrypter is the best...
and personally, i'd just buy a USB hard drive, or make one....
watche the deal sites like www.techdeals.net or www.slickdeala.net for good deals on hard drives and USB cases.
i put together a couple of 400GB USB drives for "Work", for about $250.00 each a few months back.
I use them as backup devices for work and can also use them for moving stuff as i take one home with me every week for offsite backup.

Usually I'd :bow to your expertice, but I've got to disagree on this one. Decrypter (v 3.5.4) works great, if you've got one that other programs won't read and burn (i.e., cyclical redundancy errors, etc) but if you want a real user friendly one, go with DVD Shrink (v 3.2) http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm It's interface is much easier to learn, and you don't need to know what ISO and IFO files are

You need Shrink. A DVD-r will only hold 4.7GB. A lot of new movies are dual layered, so 4.7GBX2 Shrink will make it fit

This forum will answer any questions you have about burning a disk. Like I said before DVD Shrink is probably the easiest to use. If Shrink won't crack it (CSS Encryption) the either DVD Decrypter will, or ANYDVD will. (All these can be found on Afterdawn.com) I haven't found one yet that some combination of those 3 can't crack.

BTW, Shrink has to be used in combination with either Decrypter or Nero Burning ROM. Shrink itself can't burn the disk, but it can automatically use one of the 2 others to burn the output

most newer movies are gonna have some portion of error code on them that may cause shrink to hiccup tho...

The movie studios are always trying new things, but still I'd say only 1 in every 30 or so gives me trouble. "Hitch" was a pain in the ass. I had to use ANYDVD, Decrypter, and Shrink to get that one. There was a whole thread on Afterdawn dedicated to that movie. If they continue to improve whatever they used with that one, they may just keep a few people from making back-ups. But for the most part, the majority can be backed up easily.
So Wheat, did you figure it out yet???? :comperror
