XBOXlive and wireless

OK...heres the scoop.

I am wireless in this house....I know I can buy a wireless G set from linksys and take my xbox live and play...that part I am good with ..............so far...no telling when I hook it up or if I do because I dont trust some people and I have x amount of months prepaid for live on my box and I dont want her kid using up MY time that is paid for....my kid is a different story

anyways.....I have this time prepaid...but I wasnt the one who paid for it....dude I bought it from did and just gave me the time without asking for $$ for it..pretty cool in my book...but if I do go live am I stuck having to use his profile? can I make my own? HOW?...etc.......hints and tips would be greatly appreciated


second problem....I bought a wireless gamepad....Ill be damned if the thing aint working as far as I know...it blinks and according to all trouble shooting it is sending and recieving so by all right I should be able to use it for my games...but it dont do anything besides blink green.....WTF?

sheesh...sometimes I feel like a leech asking all this but I cant get the damn thing working and I dont like using the kids seat(we all have our own spots on couchs...yes mine is directly in front of TV and set the best for my sound system which will have some pics posted shortly)I wanna play live games...especially my new motoGP games...and I wanna make sure he (her son)doesnt take his PS2 live or I will never see the fucking tv again anyways......what to do?

You can change your user name on xbox live, but you'll have to call them to do it. I had a pal that did it and he said it was no biggie. Oh yeah and if your worried about him taking your time. Its not a limit on time you just have the service for however many months.... You can play as much as you like for as long as you like till the subscription runs out. At that time your friend will probably forget he bought xbox live and microsoft will automatically deduct another year subscription from his account. Good for you bad for him if he bounces a check. As for the wireless game pad. Take that P.O.S. and throw it in the trash. For the most part they are junk I've never had a good one. What your problem is on that is it sounds like you have less than new batteries. And just buy a chitty cheap tv for him to play on or set-up a gameroom in the back of the house like I did. Gave me a reason to buy a 30" widescreen :mrgreen:
