Default Corn fed venison and why you hunt deer with a rifle.

Corn Fed Venison It Looked Good On Paper! » The WVb

I laughed my ass off. It's a little old now but I don't think it's been on here yet.

The funny thing is, the whole "pen a deer and feed it corn to make it taste good" is an idea I've had many times, lmao.

Actually I think if I was gonna try it the way to do it would be to fence off a piece of bush, with a couple of gates, then close the gates and get them used to you being around. The natives in northen Scandinavia herd deer and that's how they do it. Just get 'em used to being around people, eventually they can be socialized well enough that you can come up close enough to touch them and they don't freak out.

Hell of a long row to hoe compared to a cotton tail, they're pretty wild still. It'd be like trying to breed wolves into dogs. You can do it but when it was first done it took hundreds or even thousands of years.

Not a bad idea, but couldn't you just get a tranquilizer gun and take care of it that way? Or is the general public not allowed to have those?

After reading your post again, it's starting to make me laugh. Allowing the deer to get use to you and somewhat comfortable with you, then just destroying that trust in a second. "HAHAHAHA, JUST KIDDING!!!!"

Poor Deer.

Time to get out the bow and start practicing for this upcoming season (it's only 6 months away).
