HELP! rar files

I've downloaded a program and I'm trying to figure out how to hell to unpack it all. There are a bunch of rar files but they all have the same two files inside them. One is a .bin and one is a .cue. How do I unpack this?

This looks like a segmented rar file -- you'll want to open the main one (named .rar) in whatever program you're using to decompress (like WinRAR), which then should decompress into a single large copy of the .bin and .cue files you're seeing. It's been quite a while since I've used WinRAR so I may be off a bit....but that's how the Linux cli rar utility works.

Yeah that was how it worked. I just didn't get my mind wrapped around the fact that they were using multiple rar files to archive only 2 files.

It's a function of rar compression that you can segment an archive into multiple smaller archives. Very useful for posting huge files on usenet and sending bits over email, where there are attachment size limits that would otherwise prevent posting files of that size.

Naming conventions do vary, some people make the first file .rar and the rest .r01, r02, etc..
Some others start with .r00 or .r01 and don't have a .rar at all. those you might need to manually open because Windows probably doesn't have Winrar associated with them.

If you download WinRar (free for basic use), you just open the first RAR and it will pull them all in as 1 file.

I use this program FREQUENTLY! Love it.
