Smile Now this is an expensive bloody keyboard....

Okay,
I am officially impressed with this fully programmable keyboard.

Product Details:

It's HERE!!!! The fabled Optimus Maximus Keyboard is now in stock here at Performance-PCs.com!

Wildly Exciting. Amazingly Functional. The future of keyboard evolution. The Optimius Maximus keyboard has a very appropriate name. It's a work of art!
The Optimus Maximus, developed by Art. Lebedev Studio, is the world’s first keyboard where each key on this keyboard is a small OLED screen, a full color 4545 pixel display capable of moving images! So the letters aren’t painted on the keys, they’re displayed. And they change according to context. For example, press the Caps Lock key, and the letters on the keys actually capitalize.
The fully configurable display is particularly useful when configured to work with specific programs like Photoshop or games like Half-life. Each key is a stand-alone display that shows the function currently assigned to it. Optimus’s customizable layout allows convenient use of any language—Cyrillic, Ancient Greek, Georgian, Arabic, Quenya, hiragana, etc.—as well as of any other character sets: notes, numerals, special symbols, HTML codes, math functions and so on to infinity.
The ambient light sensor allows for having the display brightness automatically adjusted up or down depending on whether it is getting dark or light. Additionally, you can adjust brightness manually. Automatic or manual control is available through the Optimus Configurator software. The keyboard has a slot for inserting SD card. All layouts are stored on the SD card to allow key images to change quickly. This is absolutely the greatest keyboard ever made!

Features:
  • The service life of displays and their ribbon cables has been enhanced by making the screens embedded in the keytops motionless—it’s only the transparent caps that are pressed.
  • Every button on the keyboard (or, more precisely, a module with a moving cap, a microchip and a display) is easy to remove in order to clean or replace.

Keyboards with passive keys can be upgraded with active keys at any time. Say, if you bought a keyboard that has 10 active keys, you can buy however more active keys you need and have them installed!

I'd drop about $3-400 for that maybe, but $1500+, no way. I could never use it to its full potential.

Damn, that thing is awesome. Would be nice to have, but I couldn't' justify spending that much on a keyboard.

It would have good gaming apps, plus the ability to have multiple formatting setups.

Wait a couple of years and it will be as cheap as dirt
