WinTV-HVR-2250 Dual Tuner HD card

I just picked up this tuner card and I know we have talked about it here which ones actually work and work good. I have been looking for some time now and this one kicks ass.

Highly recommended. It has better reception then some built in tv tuners and also better then my directv hd tuner.

So now I'm running nothing but a media PC at each TV, full HD and digital sound as well. I will post up a full review of all the equipment that I have to make this all happen, but it's very nice to have everything on one machine, and unlimited access to anything you want to watch all for free.

Pause, record two shows at once, etc... all for free! (no monthly payments)

For me, I can watch all the races I have and any video file I have on my network, as far as actual TV, I get 22 channels in HD from an antenna that I installed. In addition to that, there are many shows from all the major networks that are on media center as well that you can watch anytime you like. Then there is Hula and TV-FOX as well as WINTV too.... all in all, I'm not missing anything at all from a 100.00 satellite package, actually I have more to watch now then before.

So you get this gadget. Hook it up to your comp and tv. Have a high speed internet connection and an antenna on the house. And you can watch everything that you can with a dish/direct tv system?

No.
This tuner lets you capture video from either analog cable TV, or from over the air free HD, not satellite.

Now, you can use it with digital cable and satellite, but you still need a subscription from the cable/satellite company, and a digital box from them. Then the computer can change the channel on that digital box via an infrared blaster.

If you live in a big city, you'll probably be able to get 1 or 2 dozen free HD channels over the air. If rural areas it's likely to be very few.

I have analog cable, and 3 or 4 tuners in my computer, so I can be taping a couple shows and watching another at the same time. The card he linked to is basically the same as mine, but I have two separate cards that can record 1 at a time each, his card can two at a time.

I was looking at that card the other day at the store but wasn't sure if I'd want it or not.
