Sore...................

Okay well I'm a lazy ass and ever since I lost my 6-pack (from excess amounts of and yummy snack food) I've been kinda annoyed and wanted to get it back..


So well I decided to start so I start doing some sit-up and push ups and using my excercise ball I have... OMG I can't belive I am sore from just doing that crap yesterday... WTF I need to get my ass back in shape...

haha yeah when you do something your body isn't accustomed to you get pretty sore. ease into it so you dont cripple yourself. You cant just start working out and kill your muscles. start by doing a 15 minute full body workout then wait 2 days, 30 minutes, 1 hour, then maybe anohter1 hour then start breakingthem up doing 2 bodyparts in 30 mins per day then 2 bodyparts 45 mins.
not an exact science just listen to your body and you'll get it back.

Best advice I could probably give is start taking some vitamins and increase your water intake. then of course my big preach is to transition to natural unprocessed foods(as much as possible).

6 days a week in the gym 1hr 30 mins each time. Right after I run for 30 mins, then after that I play soccer for almost 2 hours. My body has been through alot and it has payed off. Body is getting ripped. Fatigue is almost gone and I have soo much energy. Get your ass in the gym and you will feel the same too!

Does it have to be right after? I only have time for weightlifting during my lunch workout, and hit up the outdoor run after work.

I do run after, but it depends what you want to focus more on cardio or weight training. If your a runner i wouldnt recommend you lift weights first because your energy will be soo drained that you wont be able to keep up pace which then makes you loose some of your speed. You also dont want to life alot if you want to get faster cus the bulk will only slow you down.

But if you want to get big and have some cardio you do lift first. Thats what i been doing

Hellbound you're correct but if you'r trying to be an endurance runner I would question lifting weights regularly at all.
I guess I should have said for the majority of people who are trying to tone up and build a useful amount of muscle weights first then cardio to optimize each.

Kneedragger, If you're going to split up your workouts then i would try to do a little cardio first thing in the morning just hop out of bed into a walk or jog or your choice of cardiovascular excercise the come home eat immediatly then go through your day and weight train later in the day.

Cardio after weights is only if done immediatly the reason being when you first start working out your body uses different fuels and only starts releasing fatty acids 15-25 minutes into a workout. So doing cardio first you are using up a good deal of glycogen which is the preferred fuel during weight training.
WEight training first will make sure you have as much glycogen available then as you progress through your workout as your strength starts to fade from lack of glycogen (as well as many other factors) it will start to shift into a fat burning mode then you go hop on a cardio machine and you're pulling from fat stores for 100% of the duration of the exercise.

I hope this makes sense I am writing this from 30k feet above the pacific. I'm pretty sleep deprived but Korean Airlines just set up their internet access so I couldn't resist.

I had to get my moment in j/p lol. Yeah right now im bulking for the next 6 months then ill switch to go into endurance since i run track and play soccer. I need some bulk for powering outta the blocks in sprints and driving to top speed.
