Talking Another health drinks question: sport drink vs. water vs. others...

Ok here is another health drinks question... :

How about those sport drinks like Gatorade? I checked the labels on those, it seems that they have a lot less sugar, carbohydrate, and calories than fruit juice and beer... is it save to drink these everyday like water?

Thanks again...

They do have less sugar but its still sugar 1g sugar= 4 calories. The sugar in gatorade isn't all refined fructose I think its mostly dextrose (glucose).
Glucose doesn't put such a huge glycemic load on the body but its still calories.
Gatorade is forumulated to provide the body with some carbohydrate and electrolytes. Neither of which you'll need in daily situations. Unless you're outside sweating like crazy.

I would really try to choose water as much as you can. sugar free mixes crystal light/wamplers etc are also an easy way to get a lot of liquid in.
Green and white tea (other teas are also very good) give you loads of anti oxidants and a little boost of caffeine if you need it.
Gatorade isn't terrible but if you're trying to diet its working against you.

I broke down and had a Mt Dew today... But hell...I'm in the middle of moving and it's like 95 degrees and 99% humidity so I'm sweating a shitload. I don't think one soda will hurt. Plus I went today and stocked up on crytal light....got enough to make like 20 gallons.

1 soda never hurt anyone and if you have one occasionally I think you'lll be just fine. but chronically bombarding your body with that HUGE load of refined sugars isn't going to help anything.
Same with Beer though having TONS of beers all the time is definatly going to F you up.

Butfrom what I've read if I had to choose whether to have 2 light 12oz beers or 2 12oz soda's per night I would choose the 2 beers without hesitation.
