try this...

Stretch and then
Run, 2 to 3 miles........
Come inside once complete.
12 pushups, roll over 20 four count flutter kicks (counting 1, 2, 3, ONE....1, 2, 3 TWO...1, 2, 3, THREE) and so on

Repeat that 10 times, without taking a break. So, 120 pushups and 200 flutter kicks.

And Then...

Assume the pushup position. Do one correct pushup, stay in the up position with your back straight. Count slowly to 10. Do another pushup, count to 9. Do another pushup, count to 8.... By the time you are counting to 4 your body should be shaking involuntarily.

Once complete, your chest should be glowing red from all the blood flow

My goal is to do 20 pushups and sets of 30 flutters......but that shit is HARD, when you dont take a breather.

Tried it.

So far I'm up to 1 lap around the block, came back in , collapsed in the floor and after finally getting enough air to scream , holler'd at the kid to bring me a beer. And the wireless keyboard.

With any luck I'll make it back to the couch in the next hour or so.

Man I love running, But I haven't been able to do so for a number of years. My knees won't allow it to happen for more than about 0.5 miles before the ache to much. I like elliptical (sp?)machines now..

If you're trying to get into shape or get stronger do the lifting first. Because of how your body uses fuels you'll be stronger for the weight lifting but then you'll be just as well off running than if you did it first. WHen you run first you burn up all the "good" fuel glycogen during the first 20 minutes or so and then your muscles are starved during the weight training session and are forced to use secondary less than optimal fuels.

Looks hard though!

we used to do something very similar to that for SAR PT....

however, we'd drop in an 800m swim and sprints after the run...

and we'd do the flutters with FINS...

and instead of pushups, we did pyramid pull-ups, typically up to 8 and back down...:

really gonna miss SAR PT....
