Nice! It's a very good car. Very reliable, and still fun and not a slouch either.

good choice!

Roman.. I would have had to wait 3 months for one with the DSG gearbox to arrive... Nah, I said fuck it.. went with a manual. The wife wouldn't even use the DSG tiptronics.. no point. If all goes well I'll be driving a 99 C5 Vette in a few weeks.. who needs DSG? Until then I'll slum it in my Golf VR6.

Though it would'vebeen cool to play with. It got great reviews w/ the A3..

Suppose that's a valid point.

DSG is supposed to be a tad quicker, but personally I would probably just prefer a conventional manual aswell. Just feels better.

I'm sure she'll love the car! Ive test driven one at the dealership here, also without DSG. Great car to drive. If I wouldnt have issues with FWD I wouldn't mind buying one.

Enjoy the 99 Vette, I can imagine they must be rare. Well they're very rare down here. Germany maybe a tad less but still.
Dont forget to visist Geiger Cars at some point...

Thanks for the link. Yea, I've seen a few Vette here but they are still pretty rare. They always get a second look.

Beauty of a car. Really rare over here aswell.

Geiger makes anything you want for a vette, more than their website shows.

Have fun with her!

I have the 2005 GTI 1.8T (Chipped APR) ..
I went to the dealer to change it with the GTI 2006 2.0T W/ DSG and 18'' Rims ... Black ext / Int leather..

She could only have it in July ... so i might wait and make my finale decision ...

Congrats and lovely car

Awesome.

I test drove a 6 speed package 2 with nav and 18's. I'm a big fan of the new GTI and 2.0FSI motor. They run very well. I really considered getting one before I bought the ZX-10R. Although I test drove a fully loaded one if I were to buy one I would actually like the package 0. I just don't have a need for satellite radio or a sunroof. And I dig the old school hound's tooth cloth!

That engine pops up in the new Leon FR aswell now.

Specs are the exact same as the GTI (same platform obviously).

Do you Americans actually get the make Seat on the market?
VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda all being under the same wing their cars are awfully similar.

The alternatives we have for the GTI are the A3 with the TFSI engine, and this Leon FR.

The Leon FR may be the same it's cheaper though.

Most popular (petrol) Golf at the moment is the 1.4TFSI, amazing how a 1.4 litre can spit out 170hp.
1 turbo for low revs and 1 for high revs. So no turbo lag.

If I wasnt so against FWD I wouldn't mind one.
Actually what am I saying I drive a Golf IV all the time
