im pissed at yamaha

i bought my 06 r1 last week , its at the shipping depot, picking it up tommorow,

but, now i find out it DOES NOT have high a low speed compression dampning on the forks, and yamaha changed there website yesterday to say this, the fact that the standard r1 came with this is one of the reasons i backed out of the LE, i figuired i could have traxxion redo my stock forks and shock and have as good if not better then the stuff on the LE and save $$$$, it just wouldnt say ohlins, bfd

i do trackdays, i was an expert level racer, and this does make a difference for me, and i feel cheated, i got the noumber for yamaha usa today and im going to call them tommorow and see what they have to say,

to add icing on the cake some jack a** on the r1 forum is trying to tell me that its no big deal, f- that, i think it is

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, but then again you've got to try. It's always seemed to me that even fervent brand loyalty to a company doesn't mean shit when they're faced with shelling out a few hundred bucks to keep a long-time customer happy. Good luck with them man, I hope they see it from your angle...

BTW, I'm off tommorow. What time you getting back from picking her up?

I wouldn't get totally pissed at them, but be professional and let them know you made the purchase based on misleading/incorrect information and they should make it right.

too bad they changed it, now they can deny it all they want. Try to find some proof and they are screwed.

I'm working the weekend... I'll be off till I go back in Friday night. My wife's got a craft fair she's doing all day tommorow so I'll have my daughter with me. But if you're gonna be home for a bit give me a call and maybe I'll bring her along to come check it out.

Sorry to hear this. But uh...regardless of what one person thinks...it was a big deal to you so you have a right to be pissed about it.

That's would be like buying a car with a GPS option, and the week after you get it home, they come to your door and say "The specs have changed, we're taking the GPS option back" It doesn't work that way.

yep , yamaha's official word to me was oops, but were not offering any compensation at this time, thanks for you 11k

i was like, that really sucks, and they were like sorry

me: can i speak to someone above you
them: nope
me: so my buisiness isnt that important to you
them: yes it is , but were not offering any compensation
me: so im pretty much s.o.l.
them: well im sorry you feel that way
me: obviously not that sorry
them: is there anything else i can do for you sir
me: yea give me high and low speed compression dampning on my bike like it was advertised
them: like i said yamaha is not offering any compensation at this time
me: is it possible they will at a later time
them: i wouldnt expect it to change

i think you get the idea

It sucks to say but at that point there's not a whole hell of a lot you can do. You can get a lawyer, but an attorney's retainer fee alone would be 4 times the amount you'd go after them for.

I went through the same run around with Suzuki. They gladly take your money, but the service after the sale is virtually non-existant.
