08 r6

Does anyone here own one...wondering what your opinions are. Hopefully someone here has one...

Have a friend with one..... running the two back to back (08 and 07), there seems to be bugger all difference between the old and the new..... Different styling (absolutely minimal), and a bee's dick better off the line ability due to the Variable throttle bodies, but once up to about 4.5-5k rpm, bugger all difference.

I would like to take it onto the track though, and have another go. May get the chance this friday.

Having said all this though, glad I can now get a stock gasket and replacement pistons with better valve clearance if I decide to take the 07 race bike up to 13.1 compression instead of the std 12.8. Will be easier to get as 08 parts than trying to get 07 YEC Parts

How does it compare to the 06-07 r6? more bottom end?

If i remember correctly what i read about it, it doesn't really have a noticable improve in the lower rev range, but it has better mid range.

Never tried one thought.

ive thought the same thing. my wheels and forks could be made to work but i sure would miss the grunt of the 1.

if they ever redesign moroso motorsports park and i could do a track day every month i would probally do it as the 1 is a bit much for the track and i would probally have more fun on a 6

but as it stands now im lucky if i get to the track more then once a year it is just such a project to jennings and it cost so damn much money by the time you figuire tires, gas for tow truck, 2-3 nights hotel.

I own a 06 model R6 and it does lack low end power I really have to rev it up to stay with my RBs 05 Gixxer from a stop . but a 520 conversion +1 -2 really puts this bike were it should be from the factory.
The 08 is said buy shane at McCoy to makes up for what the 06-07 lack's .
But as style goes to each his own Imo the 06-07 is still better looking ..
