Free horsepower can be gained with the jumper mod. Takes 3 minutes. Google jumper mod zx6r.

I've got much more safety orientated over the years, so I replaced my signals with 3 wire signals, so they can become running lights.

you can remove the stupid mud flap pretty easily, just bolts off on the 08 I believe.

Now hurry up and see if it's too late to trade it in for a gsxr.

No just kidding, they are great bikes. Well no need to get too crazy with mods off the bat. First bike? or what?

Fender eliminator always helps the look of the bike. Other than that maybe an exhaust or something?

Frame sliders very good idea.
The gained HP ranges, I've seen some dyno's claim only 3hp, some 8. So say 5hp on average, which is great for a free mod.
This only works on North American bikes (NA bikes are restricted a bit due to noise emission laws, this removes that restriction). Euro bikes don't have the restriction to begin with. You didn't say where you are from so I thought I'd mention that.

As for where it gives you power, it's above 12,000rpm, so high end.

ok so this is the odd thread of the month for me
why isn't your son on here asking about mods
funny how my parents contacted the government when I got my 1st bike, and asked if I could be sent to a far off place till it got out of my system, but you're on the net looking for go-fast parts
so you don't like the little guy and want him gone huh?

2008 zx-6r

Agree with previous posters about mods. I have an 08 ZX-6R black special edition.

The best mod I did was the Akrapovic slip-on. The stock exhaust and catalytic weigh alot and I must have shed about 10 pounds from the bike doing this mod. Besides, the stock exhaust sounds very wimpy.

Cheers!

frame sliders are a great investment. they definitely saved my bike. as far as the exhaust... if you take it apart and put a baffled pipe (from your local hardware store) down it it will make it louder. you can cut the inserted pipe shorter to change the sound of it. you might need to tack weld it in place though as it will sometime drop out of place

Nope, our 02's were not limited artificially like the newer bikes, so there is no need.
