Ducati Desmosedici RR, 990 V4 MotoGP road replica ready!

Next Thursday, June 1st is the big day for everyone that has been waiting for the most exclusive and powerful Ducati ever. I am not even going to guess about how powerful it is as it will all be revealed right here after noon next Thursday after the Mugello launch. What we do know now is that Ducati is planning 3-400 bikes and that there will be two different versions. It is expected that 100 of them will be a super super exclusive RR with all the best bits bolted on. Another 300 could be a "standard" version if you can call a 990cc MotoGP derived V4 standard. If you own a 999R here are some good news for you since your wallet probably can take it. Ducati says: "Starting from June 2 it will be possible to reserve the bikes through the dealer network worldwide. 999R owners will have pre-emption rights." "The bike will 'run' for the next 3 months in the most important Exhibition worldwide, to arrive in November at the Eicma Show in Milan." You lucky bastards on 999Rs! Pictured a Desmo RR CG, Sete Gibernau in action on the real thing and a 999R with Desmosedici fairing. TS/CG by Robert O'Brien

Damn it! I'm poor, and don't have a 999R!

Very nice bike, no doubt.
As far as RWHP it will just probably equal to the current 1000cc bikes

From what I've heard they're all spoken for. Maybe informally - but people have been putting down some hefty deposits with the bike sight unseen. A couple of guys locally are 2-3 down onthe wait list.

Regardless - it ought to be interesting. Waaaay out of my price range and probably decreasing returns for the amount of $ spent relative to the other bikes on the market, but that's not why they're buying them anyway.

Some of the "concept" pictures floating around MCN and Raptors & Rockets have been pretty rediculous. They obviously have too much time on their hands.

It will definitely be interesting to see what it does on the dyno. The 180 rwhp will be on the R model only I'm thinking.

I would imagine it'd be 200+ I can't see them detuning it by 60+hp.

who knows tho. It's impossible to say until it crosses a dyno.

HAIL TO THE KING!!
