what's a smashed mille worth?

I have a line on an RSV1000 that's been down, plastics are wrecked, suspension seems good. Thing is that it's a death bike, the guy died on it.

i don't know if it'd be worth fixing, doesn't take much to write one of those bikes off 'cause parts costs are so retarded. but figure suspension, rims, swingarm are all good, and some aftermarket stuff, any idea what it'd be worth?

yea, I'm kinda the same way, very very leary of death bikes. But I DID learn most of what I know about R1 motors on a bike like that, so it's hard for me to be completely pissed about them.

I dunno, if I liquidate some sled stuff I could grab it, probably could make money parting it out, but I dunno, superstition does it I guess.

I'd check the extent of the damage see what you would have to spend to fix it and then come up with a max YOU want to pay and subtract the extimate.. boo ya that's what you would pay

I'd be more inclined to pick it up and part it out rinn. I dunno if I wanna get involved with a death bike or not, I'm abit superstitious about that stuff.

eh, i wouldn't be worried about it. plenty of parts floating around out there that came off death bikes. i think it actually brings closure that you tear it apart, and piece it out.

don't let superstition stop you. About every road you ride on is a "death road"... doesn't stop me from riding on them, as well as tracks, etc...

I rode a "death bike" I fixed back up for 2 years, and it didn't kill me.

lmao, ok you guys have cheered me up some, I'll start liquidating sled bits this weekend and see if I can't get it. Hard to say tho, it'll still be worth a pretty penny.

Be careful. Aprilias haven't held their value well the past couple of years here in the states due to all of the uncertainty swirling around the company & continued parts support in North America.

A friend who manages the Aprilia dealer here has been waiting 3 months for some parts for his 2006 Tuono... I don't remember what they were - but they were pretty basic. So my $0.02 would be figure out what you need before you get too far or you might have a long wait here & there.
