MISANO ADRIATICO 4 settembre 2007 Ducati ha presentato ufficialmente la moto che rappresenta il miglior pezzo della sua produzione e la massima espressione degli sviluppi ingegneristici della Casa di Borgo Panigale: la Desmosedici replica stradale di quella che ha corso in MotoGP nel campionato 2006. La nuova arrivata è a tutti gli effetti un pezzo unico e senza paragoni nella storia delle moto di serie. Infatti è la prima volta che un prototipo da GP viene commercializzato. Disponibile in 1000, massimo 1500 esemplari, sarà un lusso che potranno concedersi solo pochi fortunati, considerando che il prezzo di mercato è di ben 60.000 euro.
IL MOTORE della Desmosedici è un quattro cilindri ad L (V di 90°), riprogettato, per ovvi motivi di affidabilità su strada: un motore da GP dura due gare e poi "si butta via". La versione della replica ha mantenuto, però, tutti i dati chiave e le caratteristiche costruttive della Desmosedici: alesaggio e corsa, distribuzione, alberi a camme e, ciò che lo distingue da qualsiasi altra moto di serie, il soft pulse o big beng, cioè gli scoppi irregolari. Le manovelle sfasate hanno un angolo di inclinazione pari a 70° Nel complesso è quindi identico a quello del prototipo GP 2006, salvo per alcuni elementi che lo rendono conforme alle norme della Euro3. La stessa considerazione va fatta per l’impianto di scarico, fornito in due tipologie differenti: una stradale con catalizzatore e silenziatore nel sottosella ed una racing, che si avvicina maggiormente a quella del prototipo. La potenza è di 188 CV con l’impianto di scarico stradale e 200 CV con quello racing.

CICLISTICA Le quote ciclistiche sono molto vivine a quelle della MotoGP. L’interasse misura 1.430 mm e l’avancorsa 98 mm. Il cannotto di sterzo è regolabile su due posizioni con inclinazioni diverse: 23,5° oppure 24.5°. Il telaio ha una struttura anteriore con forma triangolare, che serve per conferire la massima rigidità possibile, ed è ancorato alle teste dei cilindri della bancata anteriore del motore, che ha struttura portante. Il telaietto reggisella, per la prima volta su una moto di serie, è costruito completamente in crarbonio. La Desmosedici pesa 171 kg.
