the dyno preliminary dyno sheets from that thing are VERY impressive.

as close to a 990gp bike as I've seen.

Walker should get one of these, f*ck the 1098.

HAIL TO THE KING!!

Besides the very special engine, it has fully adjustable geometry (suck that Ducati for taking off geometry adjustability on the 1098's )

Here's a google translation from the italian.
This is going to be a very special bike

Get one Kevin (but check out the BMW SBK that's coming out too)

With 31 titles and 250 victories in Grand Prix motorcycle racing and 8 in Superbike victories in the last sixteen years, Aprilia was able to become a modern myth of motorcycling. The motion of Noale were imposed on all the circuits of the world always pursuing non-traditional technical solutions, experimenting, innovating and - sometimes - revolutionizing technical diagrams that seemed unchangeable.

With a unique sporting tradition, Aprilia, at the same time the announcement of recruitment of Max Biaggi for World Superbike 2009, launches' s RSV4, the motion that in season 2009, the trade show in the Venetian daughter of the World Series. A motion extraordinary thought, since the clean sheet for competitions and that is entirely designed and developed in the department of Noale races.

HERE ARE THE ELECTRONIC "ALL" - Four-cylinder, 999 cc and a power at the highest level in the race, the new motion, which debut in the World Superbike 2009, is a revolutionary machine that, as is the tradition of Aprilia, following design guidelines and creation of entirely new. The scheme V engine, the use of an electronic "total", the lightness and compactness are extreme only some of the features that make it unique in the world. The approach to the design and construction of Aprilia RSV4 was one of its most important - and winning - races of Europe department.

Even the road RSV4 benefits of such extraordinary technical skills acquired in two decades of victories in motomondiale and adopt the most advanced solutions used today in motion by Grand Prix: RSV4 is characterized as for its exclusive nature of true - and in many ways single - racing replica.

A SINGLE ENGINE - Aprilia RSV4 thrust from the engine is more revolutionary and powerful ever built by Aprilia. A four-cylinder V-65 - architecture that makes it unique among all Supersport engines in the world - in which the most sophisticated engine engineering is married to the most precious materials and more advanced electronic management solutions.
The Aprilia engine uses a technology multimappa Ride by Wire, a solution that opens new frontiers in the management of the engine, with development possibilities almost infinite control the release of power and traction control (already present in the racing version).

The architecture close to V has allowed the construction of an engine with reduced footprint longitudinal incredibly encouraging the centralization of masses and the realization of a very high performance chassis (wheelbase compact, long swingarm). In addition, a four-cylinder with this configuration is so narrow as to allow bore more to the benefit of increased respiration and achieve higher schemes to all cross-favor dell'ingombro crucial to the aerodynamics and the handling (for feature Aprilia motorcycles which are historically an absolute point of reference on the motorcycle scene).

DRAW AND INDEPENDENT VARIABLE ... - The basement is monoblock with integrated cylinder pipes, offer for maximum stiffness and consistent performance. And the intake pipes are of variable length. Each bank has a dedicated servomotor that operates exclusively on the two respective bodies butterfly. In this way the opening of the four butterflies and consequently the amount of air injected can be managed independently. A solution that opens new frontiers in electronic engine management on the provision of power to an advanced traction control and full. To underline the nature of racing that propelled the change is detachable and the clutch has antisaltellamento system.

ADJUSTABLE CYCLE - Aprilia RSV4, conceived and designed for track, was "naturally" with the possibility of setting characterizing the racing machines. The bike Aprilia most powerful ever built out so many opportunities for adjustment cycle: the adjustable frame geometry course offers the opportunity to vary parameters such as angle of the steering tube (thanks to the steering bushings interchangeable), but also positioning of the swingarm and even the propeller. The technology of construction is that race: the swingarm and chassis RSV4 are made of aluminum with shares coupled with high thick sheet metal parts in a variable section.

The component is of the highest level and provides Öhlins fork and shock - as well as the shock of steering dedicated - Brembo brakes with monoblock calipers and forged aluminum wheels.

BORN IN THE WIND - The development of the style of Aprilia RSV4 followed the same philosophy that has characterized the entire project. Without any concession choices that were purely aesthetic, the soul of racing Aprilia RSV4 is evident in the design of each component. The design of the bike and the technicality of all its parts come together into one harmony that is functional to track the natural environment of the new Aprilia.
The hull, designed in wind tunnel, is reduced to the minimum terms and in no way detracts from the beauty of mechanical technology. So the system chassis / engine is free to view and escaping from the hull overbearing in all its muscle.

The three front headlight makes RSV4 so recognizable as the only from the first glance,
the tail, very slim and light up, and accentuates the dynamism of esaspera Aprilia RSV4 that even stops by, showing off his call to race and speed.

I had completely overlooked the RC8 (Added to the list). Surely it's something to look at. I'll be test driving each at the track (responsibly :/) before I decide. I know a guy that can make that happen

Yep, the RC8 is a good choice too.
If i was in the market some months ago i would have get it, but there are so many exciting bikes coming soon.....

If $$ is not an object and i was after a twin i would get the Bimota DB7

Anyway.... here's another pic of the RSV4

MOOOOOAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR

The new 1000cc V4 is set to feature ride-by-wire throttle, hi-tech electronics which Aprilia claim make traction control possible and an engine designed and built in-house by the Italian firm.
As you can just about make out in the picture, the bike features Ohlins suspension and radial brembo brakes. What you don't quite get from the picture is a sense of just how small and compact this new Aprilia supersports machine is.
Aprilia have revealed that the new RSV4 weighs in at 190kg fully fueled, which incidentally is 9kg less than a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade weighs dry.
The RSV4 will be available in 2 versions- the higher spec Factory version will feature better suspension and brakes, but both have adjustable engine mounts allowing the engine to be moved 10mm up or down, as well as a movable swingarm pivot and a changeable head stock angle.
Aprilia have yet to release a power figure for the road bike, but the race bike is making 210bhp at the gearbox. Aprilia have ambitious plans for their 2 rider WSB race team- they plan to finish in the top 10 in year 1, be winning races in year 2 and win the championship by year 3. They've already signed Max Biaggi for one slot but the other rider is yet to be announced.
Miguel Galluzzi, RSV4 stylist famous for creating the Ducati Monster and Cagiva Raptor, claims that a naked Tuono style streetfighter version of the RSV4 is on the cards in the future.
We'll have more news and official pictures from the launch on motorcyclenews.com later this weekend, so check back to be among the first to see more of Aprilia's latest offering.
