Nascar qualifying crash

I'm not a fan of Nascar at all, but holy shit!

I don't know how he walked away from that one.

Yeah, the announcers on the video said he hit the wall at about 185mph+.

I saw the vid and an impressive walk away by the driver. But lets get it right guys, the cars are probably the safest chassis and crumple wise on the planet and it was a glancing impact on the wall. I'm not denying that it was a severe accident but what better car would you want to be in if it did happen.

I hadn't seen any wrecks from the COT yet, but that kinda proved it to me, to be honest. Very impressive feat of engineering. Dissipated energy like a champ.

That was no "glancing" hit to the wall. the safer barrier was bent so bad they had to replace it before the race. I've seen some hard hits watching the races, and the barrier doesn't bend that all that easily..They call them "soft walls" but they aren't that soft at all..

There was talk that it was a head on, if it had been head on, he wouldn't be here walking about, no -one is superman; thus the reason I said a glancing hit. Still and impressive impact and just goes to show the safety of the cars and the inbuilt safety of the more modern race tracks.
