Did you wear a good luck charm when you ride?

I don't really believe in good luck charms but since my girlfriend bought me jade carving I do wear it. I also have a bone carving.

Stevie Ray had one.

I think firehawk said he wears a lucky T shirt when he flys.

So you riders wear em? Believe in them?

it's not a lucky shirt

it's a phychological booster shot.

i've worn it everytime i've ridden in the last 7 years.

i won't say what it has done for me, because i'm not hexing myself. put it this way....it continues to keep me safe....and i often ride beyond my comfort zone.

i will say it continues to do its job rather well.

I wouldn't say I have a good luck charm, but I always wear a cross on my necklace that was blessed by Pope John Paul. I wouldn't consider a religious article like that a thing of luck, but it's been with me through some of the rough times in my life and it kind of serves as a reminder that whatever happens I'll get through it. So yeah I wear it when I ride.....maybe I think if something does happen to me, that'll be my ticket up instead of down.....

I guess it would depend on what it is. She's not one to buy me little trinkets or the like. But say for example, she bought me a pair of Sidi Vert-Racers, you better believe I'd wear 'em while riding.

Trinkets and the like, I'm not really one for them. She knows it, so doesn't really buy them.

I don't really think of my Mere Mere as a trinket

tools are mine....I always make sure I have my toolkit locked in place and folded a certain way.

I guess my real charms would be the dragon necklace I wear...its a pewter on a silver chain...and my shark tooth

Some of those look okay, but still not my thing. It all comes down to if you like them, or have some kind of tie to the meanings of whatever it is that's given to you or that you bought.

I didn't see anything that relates to your Mere Mere though in the meanings.

This is the link to meaning of the Mere.

It has meaning to me mostly because my lady gave to me and a Maori elder blessed the Mere. Now I don't believe in any god or gods but its still has meaning to me. Also I've walked all over the South Island of New Zealand including the greenstone valley where NZ pounamu [jade] comes from. She believes it will protect me when I ride so I wear it.

Mine looks like the top photo/ middle

That's all that matters then is that you like it, and it has meaning for you.

thanks for the link.
