I didn't see where it said Penn donated $1,000,000, only that Dion had.

Penn is being criticized for being unable to help because he brought too many people to record his attempts at saving people:

But with the boat loaded with members of the Oscar-winner's entourage, including his personal photographer, one bystander taunted: "How are you going to get any people in that thing?"

While it's good to help, I think he had really only intended it as a publicity stunt. IMO, if he truly meant to help, either hire people to get out there and do it. Or, send money/food/toiletries. But please leave your sorry ass home.

YOu have a point fjorn..... but lets face it... how many people do you know that think before they act.... Esecailly actors with $$$$$$

Maybe he really wanted to help?

I think he actually wanted to help a little. Although the media will call it a publicity stunt. That said, if you really wanted to help why do you need a personal photog?
