Ok I'm moving to Itlay

Not me. i wish. Pasted. CHP suck here!

been wanting to move to europe for a few years now. ended up meeting a fine italian woman and we got engaged a few months ago. after several months of dealing w/ paperwork and freight company headaches, we arrived in italy 1 week ago today.

man, this place is the promised land. the food is the best i've ever had. not just the "italian food" as in italian recipies, but the actual quality of individual food items is unbelievable, not to mention cheap. Everything is fresh (produce, seafood) and very high quality. (we won't even mention the low prices for quality alcohol LOL.)

the sites are gorgeous, the people are cool. oh, and it's nice to live in a country where there is not a woman in town that outweighs you (like seriously.) not to mention, literally every woman looks like she just walked off the modeling runway or out of an advertisement. truly unimaginable until you see it. fortunately mine is among the hottest of the hot (let's just say she's italian on the top half and brazilian on the bottom)

oh yea, i can't wait to get a bike. aprilia dealership right down the road, and some sick ducati's (haven't found the yamaha dealership yet???) and these roads will be the coolest to ride on. cops don't hang around waiting to give you a ticket. it's all high-speed and everyone's cool about weaving and the like, because it's just how you have to drive here. nobody gets roadrage about things like that or tries to run you over cuz you can go faster than them on your bike.

would be cool to meet up w/ some riders if anyone here lives in northern italy?

or if anyone is going to be out this way (vicenza) then hit me up on pm and we'll meet up

Can you imagine living in a country that cops have better things to do than chase down bikers? Where woman are slim and not overwieght pigs? Fresh food, cheap beers, great riding roads.

Italy was decent, but I wouldnt want to live there unless I was loaded with $$$. While there we had to find a pharmacy, and ended up in the slums where everything was sub-standard. The pizza sucked, as did the overly expensive pasta. The chicks were HOT though, and that was nice.

Vicenza was a decent town, Venice was nasty. THe water stunk and there was trash floating in it. Pisa was cool because of the leaning tower, but you had to watch out for the thieves and such.

Overall, its hard to tell from a 2 week trip. Probably no worse than some areas of the states. Like I said, if I had the money, I'd love to try and live there. Imagine the riding! :badg

I have to agree on all counts. Real Italian food is nothing like the Italian that we're used to here in the US. But it's not all bad, just different.
The chicks are definately hot. I'd post pics but none of mine from there are scanned. But just like every other country too, for as many hot young, Italiano babes you see, there's just as many NOT so desireable ones. You walk some of the side street and you'll see what I mean, LOL! It's still a cool place to be though, but like Kneedragger said...$$$. Just depends where you are though. I think the part I liked best was the Isle of Capri. The whole village built into the side of steep hills overlooking the sea. Beautiful. Man I got to get around to scanning some pics from there...

Hey thanks for all the info. Sounds good but need bucks.

Cali would be nice if we had 1 million people instead of the 40 million idiots that can't drive for shit, clog the roads up. Than CHP are all over the place now and my last few rides I pretty much stick to the speed limit of 55mph..god thats so boring. Why can't they leave us alone? there should be a separate speed limit for bike, 90 would be good and no speed limit in the boon docks. If Cail would do that I would be happy here.

having dealt with italians for years in the motorcycle industry, the original writer is definately NOT posting the real Italy.

and yes for every hot Italian babe, there are several ugly as sin, or fat, or just plain stupid ones....

ever seen an old italian woman.....

thats what those hot babes turn into......

as to the food, i've eaten plenty over there, and other countries as well, and guess what, the best food comes from the best restaraunts...imagine that. So if you eat at good places, you'll be amazed at the food you get. If you eat at McDonalds or Chile's or TGI Fridays, you get what you pay for.....

As to "Italian" cooking, it all depends on where in italy you are, most people wouldn't know italian if it kicked them in the ass, and throw in Tuscan and Venetian, and they are totally lost.

oh and the high tax rates, low value of the currency on the world market, and overall lower standard of living means that he'll soon discover real life......

the sites are terrific, and so are most of the ones he probably never visited in THE USA.
lets see him keep the same attitude after he's been there for a few years......

the best thing about Italy is it's proximity to the rest of Europe and the ability to travel to multiple places quickly.

btw it also seems to be a slightly less safe place to live on a whole if you want to look back to history over the last 30 years......

I can't really complain about it. However Rome is dirty and full of shit. Great sites to see but then get the fuck out. Same goes for Venice and Milan.

There are a lot of untapped places that tourists hardly visit, so its still a lot nicer in those places.

You want a good recomendation for a place to go in Europe! Krakow, Poland!
