PS2 problems

When i am at the main menu of any game or at the system screen my controllers don't work. Anyone seen this problem before? its one of the 1st PS2s (the larger not the slim model). yes i checked that the controllers are plugged in well. tried it with and without the mem card. is my PS2 dead?

Thanks!

is it reading the disc correctly? fucking Sony trash....I hate the way PS2 does that

mine kept burning up the lasers....any dust gets on those and your screwed....it will get reading because the dust gets on the laser beam projector and burns itself to it....and the only way to REALLY clean the thing is take it apart...which voids your warranty of course.

so they make the slimmer model so you can clean the damn thing....but you lose the media drive

I went to Xbox and have been a happy boy since

I've got two PS2's and don't have a problem with either. I use a cleaner on mine once in awhile. it's a CD with ome little brushes attached to it. Works good.
