If any of you are golfers or golf fans you probably know the EDS Byron Nelson gofl tourney was last weekend. Being an EDS employee, I got to work as a volunteer marshall. Mainly I worked as a fiarway ball-spotter. Thrusday I was on 18 Cotton Valley... Friday I was on 16 Cotton Valley, and Sunday I was on 12 TPC. Amazing how often these pros knocked their ball into the trees or rough and I had to find them for em.
Being on 16 was probably the coolest... big down-hill par 5 and they were just hitting bombs... several players around the 390+ mark. Spotted balls for several big names, talked to a few of em... some of them were pretty cool, others were kinda pricks. But I guess I can understand a lil bit if they were pissy, being that if they were talking to me it's most likely because they were WAY off the fairway in the trees!
After they found their balls and passed by I would get to go stand out in the fairway behind them and watch them hit their second shots. Was a REALLY good time. Unfortunately I don't have any pics cause obviously they wouldn't let me take a camera. Anyway just thought I'd share... if anyone ever gets the chance to do this I HIGHLY recommend it.. I had a blast!
