Click it or Ticket!!!

I got pulled over by a cop today. He said it's because it appeared I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. Well, I drive a 1968 GMC 3/4 ton pick up. No shoulder belts. Haha! No easy ticket for him!!!!! Registered, insured, and smog exempt big block power baby!!!

CA. has the new" Clicket or ticket" campain going on right now.
No problem for me cause I always wear mine. I just feel that if your stupid enough to not wear it, you deserve to get hurt or killed.

We need to thin out the herd somehow.

The cop should have known by the age of my truck that there were no shoulder belts. Hell a couple years earlier, and there wouldn't have been any seatbelts...

seatbelt laws are such BS - they'll pull someone over for putting their own lives in danger and not even bat an eye to the guy that just blasted through the redlight or the old lady that can barely look over the dash drifting into oncoming traffic. Punishment for putting yourself in danger but nothing when you endanger everyone else's life...

Yep, it's all over. Although here in FL the seatbelt has to be a secondary offense. They can't pull you over solely for lack of wearing it. Although as I'm sure Lars can attest to, any cop can find some reason for pulling you over. :jimmie

We need to ban cell phones in cars too. I'm tired of being cut off by some yahoo on the phone.

not anymore.......

The USDOT and this program have just made it legal for any State Patrol officer on any federal highway to pull you over for this as the only offense.....

Thats why the big push.

Your on federal roads and the federal program is being funded specifically for this.

Not to say it's not a good idea. I'm all for it being a primary law (easily said because I and my family always wear ours). But everything I've read about it and heard on the news still points to it being a secondary law in FL for anyone 18 and older (Anyone 17 and younger it is primary already). It looks as if they're trying to make it a primary in October of this year, but as of yet I can't find anything saying it is now. The wording only says "law enforcement officers"...doesn't stipulate federal, state, or local.

It's kind of like nature's way of sorting out the stupid people off the planet....if your going to drive without a belt just drive carefuller (not a word) I mean how many of us ride with our belt on........Exactly..LOL!

Ride safe people!!!!!

This is another reason having tint as dark as possible is nice.

After my tahoe got snagged I did double 5% tint all the way around on my expedition so you couldn't see anything sitting on the seats when it was parked. My current car isn't as dark but still illegally tinted (knock on wood) and I still have never been bothered for tint.

Sorry, that seems like a real stupid thing to say. People get pulled all the time for stop lights etc. People on here are always talking about getting tickets.

Btw, I agree 100% about the seat belt thing. Why not let the tools hurt themselves. They don't force people to stop smoking, that will kill'em. Makes no sense just like Vin's post.

no 'sence' huh? If I dont wear a seatbelt and get into an accident, who's life is in danger because of my lack of a seatbelt...? Me and (typically) only me.

If I get in an accident because I'm too old to drive or I'm too busy talking on my cellphone, my irresponsible actions are putting other drivers at risk.

Does it make more 'sence'? Why punish people for putting their own lives in danger and completely avoid drivers who are endangering everyone else...?

Comprehension is your friend
