THINK! Take longer to look for bikes - DEBATE TOPIC week 6/19/06

Check it out. UK has TV and radio PSAs educating drivers about bikes.

http://www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk/ca...orcycles02.htm

The TV and radio PSAs are linked in the article.

So, why don't we have this type of government sanctioned education about bikes in the US?

Place your vote and expound on the topic in your post. EU brothers also chime in please.

actually, many times they do.....

in fact, i saw one on the television yesterday during an afternoon baseball game.

want tto know why you never see them?
because in the US, the local cable company/broadcast station/satellite company has the right to "overdub" any commercial they feel like so that they can replace it with one from a paying advertiser.

How do you think you see all those local company commercials during the superbowl?
They didn't pay ABC/FOX/NBC/CBS to air them.......

so which ones do you think they overdub first?
PSA's and competition.
