SO I finally broke down and bought some gytr slipons for my 04 and they came in on Wed last week. When I looked at them they were F_CKED it looked like someone took off the ends because the edges of the cf were rough as hell. there was also spots where the cf was seperated and air in the coating.
So I showed them to Budha and hes like they are f_cked and I took them back 5 minutes before the shop closed.
Friday I get a call from the parts monkey at the shop asking me what I thought was wrong with them so he could fill out the paperwork and send them back. I was like WTF you dont have the new ones on the way yet, and didnt you look at them? Anyway I was nice as possible even thought they were pretty lame.
They gave me a pretty decent deal...$770+tax I wanted to support the local dealer but not I kinda feel like I am getting the raw end of the deal. Like they ordered some used part and tried to slip it by on me... And its not the best deal I saw $749 online. Is this just the typical local dealer runaround bs?
So the 2nd pair came in and the dealer said that this was as good as they would get and they couldnt send back another set. The box had been beat up
The pics didnt turn out very well but maybe you can tell me if this is the typical quality yamaha is putting out. The last pic is blurry but you can see that they when they cut the inside tube there is alot of sharp edges sticking up.
I am not to happy for the $800...I will probably just send a letter to yamaha telling them I am not buying anything else from them.

No such thing as quality control there! I think those pipes will work if you don't mind them not being 100% perfect. I would return them. If I couldn't return them and were stuck with them, i would chop em a little shorter to fix all the little imperfections or maybe put a stainless band around the end, like most cans have. Good luck bro.
