Thought about new car...then not.

So, been contimplating getting rid of the wife's 6 year old car for something a little newer. Infiniti and Acura are running some great deals, along with Toyota and others. Low APR, cash back etc. Our securities guy handles the account of the guy who owns quite a few dealerships around here, so I'm pretty sure I could get a smoking deal.

That aside, I started thinking about it... Do I really want more debt? Would anyone care if I pimped a new G35 or Acura TL? Since all I do is drive this car back and forth to work, why does it matter? After the "new" wore off, all I would be stuck with is another obligation that is constantly depreciating.

I think I'm going to take the money I would have spent monthly on a new car and dump it into my 401k or Roth.

Sometimes it's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you got (unless it's a motorcycle, then that rule doesnt apply

After all the work you've put into the Mitsu....and now you're thinking of dumping it?

Really?? Do you know on what models? Normally it's only a select few.... there was a time a few years ago it was company side though.... except on Vette's...

I'm very interested in this..... I will definitely buy if it's at 0% 4 years works or 5 too.... 6 is way too long imo.

it's already out. 0% APR for 72 months. If you want to pay it off in 4 or 5 years, just get the 72 months and pay extra. Not only that, they are offering a $1500 rebate/bonus that went out direct mail to repeat customers. If you dont have the form, have your dealership check the manifest. The 0% can be coupled with the $1500 cash back.

Thanks, I found it right before I left for dinner and didn't have time to post up.

The 0% is only on 06 model years..... I'm after an 07.

They do have 2.9% on 07's though.... : : That's still a damn good rate.

I called my buddy at the dealer and he is goign to work up an order tomorrow and see what it will cost me for what I want...

I hate when I do this...

thats why I said wait a few months - even if the 0% deal only applies to '06 models, once they start getting in the '07's, they'll bend the rules to push a deal through.

I worked at a ford dealership through the employee pricing fiasco and they were working all kinds of deals on cars that weren't included
