The 1st one is also use to mount tires as well. Probably just the older way/different from what you learned on. That's the kind I always used on mine.

The first one is the old school steel rim machine, it's fast but sometimes tears up tires. When the hydraulic cylinder runs low on oil, the mount/dismount bar can break your wrist. The second one is reffered to as the euro machine and was designed for alloy wheels. It can also do steel rims and if i change the clamps, it can do motorcycle wheels too Now i gotta figure out how to get it off the truck since it weighs over 500 lbs.

Rat Bastard :gun So, the guy that repairs the tire machines replaced the clamps on the tire changer before it broke and took the old ones. After it broke he condemned it and said he wouldn't sell us the clamps and that he'd be back to pick up the clamps. My buddy tells him to bring back the old clamps and he agrees. Today he takes back the new clamps and doesn't bring back the old ones, when my buddy asks him where the old ones were, he said they were gone. He complains to my bud about how selling me the tire changer was a big liability and all. I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem with dissposing the tire changer for us . ASSHOLE! Now i gotta spend $300 for clamps
