That was a strange movie, didn't know at the end if I liked it or hated it.

not really it was a graphic novel written before 9/11 as well as the screenplay was written before then too.. they did kinda set it in the now though so ya it did have some underlying tones of recent events for sure..

It's got a lot of messages and symbolism in it... I thought it was great.......

:::::::::::::::SPOILER:::::::::::::::::::::::::::

At the end when everyone was wearing the mask walking towards the soldiers gave my goose bumps while in the theatre makes you think of a lot of stuff and it was just an AWESOME scene.. Showing the will of people against the tyrany of a government... awesome flick.. ::

A good political thriller showing how fear can destroy a country..

I hate Guy Fawkes night.
Every saturday leading up to it from sometime in september some twat decides to off some fireworks, and then it just continues till new years eve......gah!

So you celebrate a guy that failed to do something, I guess that's whats left when you really can't celebrate the Boston Tea party and a proper revolution.

When your rights are being decided by a bunch of bickering and mocking and laughing (regardless of how entertaining watching sessions in the house of commons is) people's elect, and to top it off every decission made there has to be approved by a bunch of inbread, bedwetting members of the nobility and Andrew Lloyd-Webber.
The United Kingdom of people who despise eachother, but can't be buvvered to get off their arses innit, because that means that they'll miss EastEnders, Coronation Street and Big Brother.

---------
I love how they parodied Tony B. Liar
And killed him :

Parts of it seems somewhat of a ripoff of the execution and feel of Equilibrium.(Which I totally reccomend, it has a lower budget and thus a lover quality of the special effects/green-/blue screen, but that doesn't matter because it totally rocks)

Great movie...

Just saw V for Vendetta...

Skillfully directed, great acting, superb camera work...

BUT

I couldn't help but think HEY this is the film maker's view of America post 9/11 !!!

Sounds familiar ? A regime that uses FEAR to chip away at things we have been taking as granted... Like freedom of expression... Like the sanctity of one's home... Like privacy...

I feel the Wachovski brothers were expressing their fears of what the current world events could lead to.

Before all the hating starts, I am not condemning Homeland security or anything that has happened post 9/11, but the parallels with what is happening in the world did slap me right in the face.

Not bad for a movie based on DC comics.

Must be one of the best action flicks I've seen in the last couple of years, and yes...I don't get out much.

GREAT movie. If you haven't seen it yet, go buy or rent the DVD.

You are right but this is something that every government does... This was the theme of the comic when it was published too.. So it definetly has it's influences for sure..

The comic was publised about 15 years ago though...frightening how things are actually headed that way.
