Glorious gas prices

I never thought i'd see gas sink below 2 dollars this soon. Just this past sunday gas was $2.13..then on wednesday it dropped to $1.99 and then thursday it dropped to $1.89....and THEN......today this morning I was able to fill my tank at the amazingly low low price of $0.19/ gallon... God bless human error. Class just got out this morning when my friend sitting next to me got a call from his roomie telling him that he was goign to take my friends truck and put gas in it for him, because he had found a pump at one of the stations around campus that was programmed wrong and was giving out gas for .199 cents a gallon instead of $1.99. Needless to say that began the calling freenzy...i myself skipped my next class to get some gas haha...by the time i finished gassing up there were 5-7 cars waiting in line for the pump i was at. Soon the entire school converged on this gas station. Never again will my buddy and i be able to fill up 13 gallons for $2.50...needless to say i'm framing my receipt

Was on the news, people said they weren't filling up hoping for cheaper prices. I had to laugh, not filling up cause prices are high.... not filling up cause prices are going to get lower
I get fuel cause my tank is empty

most chain gas stores dont program their pumps. The corporate office does......
and when they fuckup, they have to resend it over the internet to the programming computers.....

besides, if it was a small independant, its more than likely only one or two people even know how to change it....and those that are just the workers could probably care less.....

god bless the american worker for his/her laziness......

I'm not sure if this is right. Most (if not all) of the chain stores are still independently owned even with the chain name on the door. They set their own prices, not the gas company. If there are any gas company owned stores then what you said might apply.

As a side buisness I own about 12 gas station properties. Once the gas comes from the refinery the distrubuter adds his cut, then the delivery guy (almost always the distubuter as well) adds his cut, and finally the station owner adds his profit to the gas. So he's the one setting the final pump price. But he'll make it competitive with everyone around him.
