It is sitting on a fault line tho, the house has rollers built into the foundation. I think the window looks that way because the siding is all warped and the wood around the window is also shrinking.

From the pictures it looks to be an OSB type pressboard... and yes if you got 10 years out of that you are doing very well....

If you would have used a cement based siding it would be fine now. ie: Hardieplank, Maxiplank, etc.

Any exterior wood product that is not Cedar or Redwood will rot over time when exposed to the elements. A small nail hole or failed caulking can and will expose the siding to moisture which will rot most softwood species over time.
