I had to hold her down...

So, my wife (nurse) brings home a present for myself and our daughter today. 2 needles, we were getting our flu shots. So I went, let my daughter even pick which arm to stick. Next was her, she was laughing about it, which eventually turned to tears. She tried locking herself in her room....

Dad had to muscle her down so mom could stick in the needle. I dont even think she felt it, the anticipation was worse than the actual event.

I got mine this year, never had it last year....not really sure but I guess preventative medicine is better than none...

I can't say that I blame her, I remember being a little kid and bawling when it came time for shots...

I'd have to say I've had some doosies though. Freakin Anthrax felt like someone was holding a lighter to your arm for about 5 mins afterwards. Then there was the big needle in my ass, felt like thick maple syrup or something going in....ouch. I forget the one that made your arm stiff for like 3 days, typhoid?

Flu shots are a breeze

ya needles don't bother me at all now.. I watch them go in... but doubt I will get a Flu shot this year... your banking on the vaccine is the correct strain that you are going to get exposed too..

Wash your hands like a damn OCD patient, drink OJ, and stay away from the sick people... works for me pretty well

With 3 rugrats in the house I've got about a zillion viruses and bacteria flying around here at any given time.

My immune system is on NOS *and* turbocharged.

Bring on the puny little flu bugs

really sucks when they're newborns...

I think its the 6mo vaccination - 4 shots, 2 in each leg... not fun

I am no doctor but you realize that the flu shot only covers you for 2-3 strands of flu virus.
The docs guess which flu vacine to give you and send it out to make the drug companies $ billions.
I have never had the flu shot and dont get any sicker or more often then people who have had the flu shot.
THERE IS NO MEDICAL PROFF THAT THE FLU SHOT WORKS.

Cheers

not sure if there is "proff" that it works, but if you could get it for free, why not?

I haven't had a flu shot in years... But then again I fight off most bugs pretty well so I don't see any difference when I do..

When I feel the flu coming on I drink heavier than usual and it usually any sympthoms passes quick and not miss a day of work. In reality I don't think that the flu virus can handle alcohol, but I can LOL.

Try it next time fellas. Being a little hungover is better than feeling really shitty from the flu.

adults are different but with little ones, you gotta take extra precautions... since they're exposed to dozens, if not hundreds, of other children on a daily basis. Even if the shot takes care of 10% of all possible strains, it still helps...

did ya not know...
"The Man" gives it to you for free because it makes ya go all crazy when you go to the mall.
This stimulates the economy.
This also explains why you get big credit card bills just after xmas.
That is when the "Flu Shot" starts to wear off man.
LOL

Cheers
