depends on what model he has. The older plasmas are around that price, since the new 1080P tv's are starting to come out. Also it matter what the tv has

Kewl

I'm gonna buy this puppy for the living room of the new house:

Pioneer PDP-507XA

Are you happy with the Panasonic 42" ? I'm looking for a good 42" plasma for the kid's play room

Also looking for 2 26" widescreen LCD's for the bathroom and the kitchen...

Don't know what brand to go to for those. Heard Panasonic is good, but also heard good things about the Sony and the Samsungs...

Decisions decisions...

it uses some of the technology from the tube tv. Tube tv's have a far better picture when it comes to digital channels. If you take a plasma, big screen or lcd, and have a non high def channel it looks like shit, but when you take a tube tv on a digital channel its clear and not too distorted like the others.

dang thats awesome thats going to be my first purchase after we get a house.

I FHM this month there is a picture of sony's new 71" screen. It doesn't say what it is but its a little thicker than the lcd or plasma so I'm guessing its DLP. 71 is huge!!

The SED's are supposed to have crazy 50,000:1 contrast ratio or something like that. I read an article about it online somewhere

they already have lcd screens that run 1,000,000:1 but the cost is way to expensive for the average consumer.
