took 2 astronomy classes a few years ago...really enjoyed it.
just baffles me that with 60's technology, we put men on the moon. those guys had to have cajones of steel.
it baffles me that if we could do it then, we don't do it now, or that we can't do it affordably now. ESA is working on some super cheap interstellar propulsion, it's apparently pretty slow tho, took almost a month to make it to the moon I think, but the energy consumption looked like it'd be less energy for a round trip, from earth to luna than it cost to put it in orbit around earth. Pretty goddamned cool really.
