Wanna see what $2000 will get you in Cali?

Just signed the lease papers yesterday. We move in on the 27th.

This house is twice the size of the place we're in now. Autumn is a year old, and her crib is in our room....two bedrooms just got too small for us. So, onto a 4 bedroom, 3 full bath house. Already told mama my first purchase will be a 50+ inch flat panel and Bose surround sound.

We figured it out....if we were to BUY this house for what they were asking, a 30-year fixed would have cost us about $3200 a month, BEFORE taxes and HOA fees. This house listed for 700K. Sorry, but no matter how much I want to build up equity, I can't afford that kind of payment. Renting is the way to go....right Budha?

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Mark, and yes IMO right now is a great time to rent.... in about 1-2 years it will be the perfect time to buy I think though.

I wish I would have sold a year ago and then rented for a couple years then get back in.... I could have made a couple grand... oh well....

In Indiana that will BUY you a house! LOL Nice place though. If I were a kid I would love living in a place like that. Congrats again.

Save 40 miles on the commute? that'll help pay for the cost right there. When is the house warming?

beddy beddy nice! I like the contemporay look with the staircase and living room. Very sweet looking, and if I were in Cali, I'd no doubt be renting as well

More piccies as you move in!

Very nice!

Just goes to show you how much location dictates housing cost. $700k is a MONSTER f'ing house around here.

What's the square footage???

Man & I was complaining about my ins. doubling here in FL.
I can tell you this.... 700k in FL gets you damn near a mansion....

It's 2000 sqft. Rooms other than the master are 11x11, and the master is pretty good size.

Here's a few links so you guys can see what I'm up against...

3/4 of a million dollars for your average surburban dream.

more like a nightmare these days in san diego.

and keep in mind....prices have come DOWN 100k in the last year...

Damn bro, that is a nice home! Congrats on a great SCORE...

I've been trying to covice my girl to just rent for a couple of years or so till it's a 'buyers' market again, but she's just worried about us not being able to save for a house later on.

So she wants to wait till we can buy a house...I told her, if you have at least 15K in the bank then let's do it (and that's being leaniant (sp?), if not then let's rent a nice house!

I'm gonna show her this post, and the house you scored in SD!!! I'm out here in Ontario...so I'm sure the prices of houses are a 'bit' cheaper where I'm at! LoL...
