I'm putting this here, because regardless of your political stance I want everyone to see what happened here today. I was honored to help coordinate/participate in the welcome home ceremony for one of our units that deployed to Iraq. They were extended, being deployed for almost 500 days.
I was there when the buses pulled up, and the family members rushed them, the wives jumping into their husband's arms, it was really emotional. Men seeing babies for the first time, tears flowing, it was amazing
We had a ceremony for them, 3 generals, state representatives and others all in attendance. I was the MC, had to keep things on track with my "radio voice."
