I've seen Tigers in action at Thailand Zoo's. I've seen a big male eating a leg of buffalo and the power in his jaws was just downright amazing and scary, smashing and splintering the leg bone...scary shit to say the least....

Saw that on the news the other day. I couldn't believe it. Sad that he was even able to get out. Nothing was left open they said on the news. I couldn't imagine what all the kids at the zoo must have been thinking.

I saw that, terrible for the family. Many think foul play was involved, no way a tiger (in captivity) could leap a moat and huge wall... Virtually impossible.

Here's my scenario. Walking in the zoo, all of a sudden I hear screams, massive tiger comes around the corner, starts walking towards me and my family. The worst thing you can do is run.... Life flashes before eyes.....

And then I pull out my glock and pump 10 rounds of .40 caliber gold dot hollow points into the tiger. Family saved, crisis avoided. Long live CCW.

I called my mom when I saw the news about this, apparently it was after 5pm - zoo closes at 5pm - but the gates remain open till 6 to allow people time to get out.

There weren't alot of people there at that time and it was already dark.

No one's sure how the tiger got out, but they did find a shoe print inside the fence and blood splatter on a sign inside the fenced area.

So the tiger gets out and mauls one guy and takes off for another, gets distracted by first guy and goes back to him. The 2nd guy takes off towards the cafe along with his other friend. Both guys then get attacked by tiger.

Apparently, once he killed 1st guy, he followed the blood trail left by 2nd guy. That's when he attacks him and the 3rd guy.

There was a 911 call that came in while this was happening but wasn't taken seriously.

As for the first time the tiger injured another person, that was several years ago. It was her handler. The manner in which the tiger was being fed was not appropriate and the handler wasn't trained.

The human factor was very much the cause of this latest tragedy. But there was no way the tiger could be spared when it was found mauling another person.

One of the possibilities that is being investigated was if the boys that where attacked may have taunted the tiger. Obviously with the wall only being 12 ft tall, this tiger was able to make enough of an effort to get out.

These animals are fed daily and at this particular zoo, based on what mom has told me since she's been there, has three times the amount of room than most tigers have. So there's no reason why this tiger would leap 12ft out of it's enclosure unless it was provoked....

Mom tells me that their looking at the incidence as a criminal investigation to be able to determine not just how the tiger got out, but why.

BTW, the two guys that survived won't talk to the police at all about what happened, and they already had some problems with the law stemming from previous incidences.

Hopefully they'll say what actually happened.

Everything I've heard leads me to believe one or both were teasing the cat. Oh well play with fire you're going to get burned, shame the tiger had to be killed.

I'm starting to go along this line of thought as well.

On another note and I still find this funny, I remember my ex-wife upsetting a friends Siamese stud male and the little monster shredded her arms (bloody thing had diamond point claws-never been trimmed). Turns out he was upset because my silly ex forgot to wash off the odor from her Burman stud male and the little Siamese tiger went apeshit

Thanks for the info Sara! Might just be conjecture at this point, but it makes one hell of a lot of sense.

it's funny, dumbass people mess with wild animals, and then get mad at them when they act "wild."

Like that one idiot that thought he had "befriended" bears in Alaska, and then the bears killed and ate him and his girlfriend. I can't think of the word, but it's when we try to attribute human emotions to animals. You know, "oh the dog peed on the carpet, he is feeling guilty..." To a greater extent, we try to do that to wild animals, who I can assure you feel no human emotions but do know how to kill.
