You call that rain????

I know its the middle of our tropical wet season down here but this is ridiculous!
Last night, MacKay south of us had over 600mm [2 + feet!] of rain in 6 hours
Try riding through that.

You may be cold up north but we are wet!

Wasn't everything around just washed away by a flood or something?

And where exactly is that?

Luckily it's been pretty dry here lately... not much snow n stuff. Hoping for a good and dry spring/summer!

That's the biggest rainfall in a 24 hour period I've ever heard of for North Queensland. I remember the floods in Townsville in '98 and we had something like 12" in 24 hours. Break out the floaties

Australia
Northern state of Queensland on the east coast about 800km north of the state capital Brisbane.

and yes there was some major flooding.
The monsoon that brought the rain is heading north, our way over the next couple of days :0
