Sold my 04R1

The R1 is gone, it sold in less then a week.

Got a very good price for it.

Reason I sold the bike is this

http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/about/bill203.htm

I will be getting a new bike, but I'm going HD. Laugh all you want

If you guys had this new law you be doing the same thing.

I still love sportbikes and I always will

well it's definitely changed something about my riding. If I see cherries and I'm more than 50kph over, I won't even consider stopping.

given the number of fatalities from crashes attempting to evade the police in the last 6 months... I'm not the only one thinking that way.

Running is what I did not want to do anymore.

To much to lose if caught.

ya, exactly. You got a family to look out for still. Running is not a game for a family man.

are there no tracks in Canada? I'd rather go to 4 trackdays per year than own an HD and ride every day...lol

J/K....good luck on your new purchase!

The last time I was on a Canadian racetrack I almost got killed.

Only spent 10 weeks in Hospital

What is the fine for getting caught while attempting to run compared to the 10,000$ fine?

That seems like an illogical bill that won't last very long. People will always street race, and if they are in the act, why wouldn't they all just run.

Believe me, the ones that ARE streetracing, DO all run. However the doctor with his 4 kids and wife in the car on the way up to their vacation won't, 'cause he doesn't realize this law exists, and streetracing was the LAST thing on his mind.

Yeah, that is pretty much bs. I can't really comprehend how it got passed; there has to be some sort of lobby set up to appeal it.

Especially with them placing a electronic govenor in your engine themselves. I would not let anyone touch that.

I've not heard of them putting in governors yet. I'll get an address in quebec and register the car there before I let that happen.

To be honest, the only thing this has changed for the bike crowd is that those that WOULD have been good and stopped, have sold their bikes, and those that wouldn't have, or maybe wouldn't have, are 100% going to run now.

Yeah, but I just can't comprehend why they would set that in place and danger the lifes of officers chasing/bikers running, and the innocent drivers who could potentially get caught in that chase/mess.

Do they have a no chase rule there? If they do, then I can understand this law.
