Jacket sizing!

Ok this kinda irritates me and it doesn't make any sense to me.

I am looking at Alpinestar leather jackets. I wanted to look at a sizing chart so I googled "Alpinestars jacket sizing chart" and get this link.

Alpinestars Jackets Sizing Chart

Then I go on to measure my chest. My chest measures at 38. That's with the measuring tape somewhat tight. So I guess about 39. Now according to the chart in the link above........38-39 is a small. I know i don't where a small. My Icon that I had was an XL.

I am between 6'4" and 6'5" and about 180. So I am tall and thin, with long arms.

So is there any other tall thin guys here like me who own alpinestar leather motorcycle jackets? What size do you wear?

Any help would be great. I plan on ordering today so I wanna know what size would fit me best. According to Indysuperbikes.com the smallest size starts at 48.

Go to a local A* store and try one on, see what fits best before you order.

That's what everyone tells me and I always have the same response........."I live in NorthWest WI". They don't have shit here for actual SPORTbike jackets. Just harley stuff. And the sportbike jackets that we do have here are NEVER......EVER Alpinestars. Only shit like Joe Rocket, or some other generic brand.

I hate it around here lol. I need to move.

I figured out of the thousands of people registered here.........there has to be 1 other guy that is around my height and weight that has an Alpinestars jacket.

there are online stores that you can buy something and return it for free. try Motorcycle Parts, Gear and Accessories at MotoSport they told me one time if i bought something and it didnt fitI could return it no problem. you could always call them and ask about sizing. they were real freinly to me when I called.

Then call the place you are going to order from, and ask them what exactly do they need in measurements to insure you get the right fitting jacket.

Because I'm buying a bike next week and I would like to have my jacket and helmet by then. I don't have a trailer to haul the bike home so I'll be forced to ride it home. I'm also buying from someone that lives 2 hours away and I'll be riding in about 45 degree weather. If it were just intown I would just say screw it and look like a squid for 5 minutes till I got it home, lol. But I always wear gear.

R1 for sure. I haven't decided between an 06 or an 07 that I have been looking at.

06 Raven with 4700 miles for 7500.

07 Black/Silver with 1700 miles for 7500.

Obviously the 07 is a much better deal between the 2. But I like the 06's much better than the 07's. And Insurane is cheaper. All depends if the guy with the 06 is willing to come down. I offered him 7100 but he hasen't E-mailed me back yet. Better hurry cause I'm buying next Wed or Thurs.
