Exclamation Need help, cbr1000 or R1?

Im 18 years old and about to get my first bike, ridden enough (my dads 2 harleys, my boys repsol and a GSXR1000) and its time for me to make my decision, i just cant decide whether i want a CBR1000 or Yamaha R1! i love both bikes and i can actually get a good deal on a new CBR, except everyone in south florida has one. just wondering if a few veteran riders could lend an opinion

if your in south florida, the ONLY bike to have is a turbo busa. anything less is just too girly.

Spoiler:

I was thinking on something like a nos injected ZX-14. Everyone has a Supuki Busa.

Actually any 600 will do. If you like russian roulette then get a 1000 as your 1st street bike. Harleys are nothing compared to what these bikes can do. Live longer .. Get a 600 to start. Even get a used one because you are going to go down. Everyone does.

Twin-turbo, nitrous, Super Busa running on 98% nitro should be a good start off bike.

not twin turbo, it's gotta be a Detroit 6-71 huffer being fed by a turbo snatched off a big CAT. Then add nitrous to spool the turbo quick and run it on 90+ % Nitro like warp said.

THAT is the perfect starter bike.

Seriously tho, if you're bent on a 1000, just go sit on them all, the ergo's are the biggest difference between them. Personally I like the GSXR 'cause it's the scariest and also 'cause it recovers from a slide the easiest.

HAIL TO THE KING!!

I don't know why I even comment on these posts any more

Hey I have ridden a couple cruisers (slow HOG's and not even metric cruisers), and my friends CBR twice, and I want a an R1 for a 1st bike, oh or a CBR1000
How about at least going for a Gixxer 750.
I am sure your friends have all told you how you'd outgrow a 600 within 2 months and hate it, even though they are wrong, so you are probably not going to even entertain that option.
Have you even considered what kind of gear you're getting, or are you going for the big HP and the flip-flops with the beanie helmet

Get mad..........you know I'm right
