Yamaha and Suzuki MotoGP back to the grindstone in Qatar
Yamaha´s two MotoGP teams, along with Suzuki, have opted to separate themselves from the majority of premier class teams for the continuation of their preseason, heading out to Qatar. The team of John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen will work in Losail on Sunday, one day ahead of Yamaha Racing´s arrival.
One of the focal points of this new Test will be Carlos Checa, who could debut with the Tech 3 team on the Dunlop-equipped M1. James Ellison´s new teammate in Hervé Poncharal´s team this week saw a happy ending to beginning of the year´s horror story, joining the team after being left out in the cold due to Sito Pons´ abandoning of his 2006 project.
Valentino Rossi, grabbing the headlines this week as test rider for Ferrari F1 in Valencia alongside regular drivers, will get back on two wheels in order to continue with his preparation with Camel Yamaha ahead of the World Championship´s commencing.
For Suzuki MotoGP these three days of testing will be especially useful, after the difficulties faced by the new GSV-R in the Sepang Test. Motogp.
