Exclamation OFFICIAL 2006 Predictions Thread

Ok boys
This is the thread. This is where (if we get it right) we can come back and say: "I told you so!" Or, if we are way off we can't jump on the bandwagon late in the season and pretend like we knew all along.

This is your chance to go out on a limb and post your predictions for the MOTOGP, WSB, AMA SB championships. If you'd like, feel free to toss in some other class predictions (Superstock, FX etc).

In my opinion the riders are so good and all have great machines/teams. So it's just going to boil down to who can be consistent....which at this point could be anyone..

So, here are my picks:

2006 MotoGP:
1-Rossi (how can you bet against him?)
2-Melandri (very consistent, a true threat)
3-Hayden (3rd, but not by much. I say he gets 2 wins)

2006 WSB:
1-Bayliss (the man, the legend, and back on a DUC)
2-Haga (more in tune with the R1 than ever before)
3-Lanzi (smoking fast)

2006 AMA SB:
1-Mladin
2-Hodgson
3-Spies

Superstock, Supersport, FX....

motogp:
1. Rossi (you'd be a fool to bet against him)
2. Gibbers (he's got new form on the ducati)
3. A surprise, I'm gonna bet either a Shinya or Hopper, a bridgestone rider for sure fromt he second tier of factories, we'll all be shocked when it happens.

Rookie of the year: Vermulean

WSB:
1. Haga (he's getting there, tons of talent, a great bike, but unfortunatly a very disturbed personality, but he's coming together in his personal life and I think we'll see him come together on the track as that happens.)
2. Corser
3. Barros (I might have 2 and 3 backwards)

Rookie of the year: Barros, hands down

AMA SBK
1. Mladin
2. Spies
3. Tom Hayden

expect a performance put in by McWilliams, and expect one or more of the FX R6's to be run up into the SBK class and do well at one of the tighter events, prolly laguna.

AMA FX:
Yamaha shootout, DiSalvo on top

i hope you all vote outright for anyone on the new r6 based upon how so many rave about it i'm still wainting to see if it will dominate like the k5 did. it hasn't proven itself yet...

i do think rossi and mladin will easily win their series though...

MotoGP:

1. Rossi (of course)
2. Melandri (consistent)
3. Hayden (if he can stay on form and not make stooooopid decisions)

WSBK:

1. Bayliss (no wins in 3 years, HUNGRY)
2. Corser (best bike in the field, but after last years performance [sitting back because of the points lead only to let Chris the V close the gap] makes him loose out to Bayliss
3. Haga (guys got talent, but a little inconsistent)

AMA:
Superbike

1. Mladin (7 anyone?)
2. Spies
3. unsure at this time ( hoping for Yates and have a Suzuki Sweep)

Superstock

No predictions yet, but probably an R1 since they are using the LE (bah)

FX

No predictions yet, but probably a Yamaha considering they are the only true factory team and because the R6 is insanely fast

Supersport

1. Tommy Hayden (have you seen his helmet?)
2. Roger Lee Hayden (still won't be able to take out big brother)
3. Eboz or Disalvo (leaning towards disalvo)

So, here are my picks:

2006 MotoGP:
1-Rossi (how can you bet against him?):imwst
2-Melandri
3-Loris or Sete (Duc's are fast in the preseason
Like to see Nakano in the top three though.

2006 WSB:
1-Bayliss (the man, the legend, and back on a DUC)
2-Corser(more in tune with the R1 than ever before)
3-Lanzi (smoking fast)

2006 AMA SB:
1-Mladin
2-Bostrom(Shut-up!!! I'm being optimistic)
3-Spies

Superstock, Supersport, FX....

Exciting racing most of the time but I can't seem to get into these for some reason.

F1: Schumi will be back on top, one more time before retirement

MotoGP:

1. Rossi (to remain unbeatable in the 990 class on his way out)
2. Melandri ( has grown more patient and very talented)
3. Having a hard time between Pedrosa and Gibernau .......I guess I will go with the Mullett!

WSBK:

1. Corser to barely beat out Bayliss in a last round shoot out just like Edwards and Bayliss in '02!!!!!!
2. Bayliss
3. Toseland

AMA:

1. Mladin (I'm no fool)
2. Hodgson
3. Spies

FX: I guess it would be a yamaha since they are the only factory effort in the class this year. ???????????
Since they are too scared to run a factory team in Superbike..........

Superstock:

1. Yates to repeat
2. Spies if hi is in fact competing in the class this year and finally....
3. One of the Kawasaki boys.

Tommy is not racing supersport this year (other then possibly Daytona), he is focusing on the 10 only, so Rog is the only factory Kawi in supersport, with the attack bikes also there.

My picks (oh Hi, I'm new by the way, come from Kawiforums.com).

MotoGP:
Rossi
Hayden
Melandri
Either Kawi and Suzuki should finish in the top 5 as well, but I doubt top 3, even with their fine form. Though if Honda continues to be as slow as at the recent testing, they are in trouble.

WSBK:
Bayliss
Corser
Toseland

Barros and Haga will gets some wins, but not consistantly enough to win the championship.

AMA SBK:
Mladin
Spies
Tommy H

Supersport:
Roger
Disalvo
Hacking

FX, who cares

Superstock, I dunno really, too many changes this year. Disalvo would be my choice for the win, but beyond that I dunno.

AMA SStock: Yamaha and the LE

Cheater!!!!

Actually, if I could re-state my prediction after the first 2 rounds.... I'd have to agree with you.

Bayliss, Corser, and Barros are looking really strong. Yet, Toseland is no slouch either. Barros getting more sponsorship ($$$) should really help his effort. The guy can ride!
