Nobody until they win. When it does happen, I think Honda.

I think it'll get protested just for being there. shit I bet it'd be protested right now if it was allowed the be protested before the race was finished.

I think it has to do with the bike being produced only as a production racer. Something how the bike has to be a street model available for sale before you can use it in FX...?
(which we know the buell isnt)

yes, the rules for FX clearly state that the bike must be based upon a Street legal frame, motor, and other parts, including swingarm iirc.....

the buell is not a street legal starting point, however some contend that the frame etc are from a street legal bike...

personally, i think the AMA, will, as always lately (since 1990), allow Harley a bit of a "pass" to get them into the class and competing.

the only problem i have with this is that they didn't do the same for erion when they wanted to run changed bikes in the old fx class, nor did they for Graves yamaha with the R71.

but then again, kevin erion has a point, and they should be made to comply with the rules.
or the rules should be rewritten.

after all, they wouldn't allow the Moto Guzzi racer last year for much of the same reasons, so that project never even materialized..

and seein a 1300cc+ air cooled transverse twin that weighed around 340lbs rocketing around tracks would have definately sparked more interest in that class.....

personally, i find it boring and formulaic.
