It's very impressive but he also did only have 1 pit stop.

Do no underestimate pissed off Finns, the power of "Perkle!" is a force to be reckoned with at all times, always, even in your sleep. I was baffeled how he almost smiled at the press conference. Kimi must have, though there was no alcohol to celebrate with, had a close to perfect day on the track.

Also Rosberg is one to keep ones eyes on (who is also half Finnish though he doesn't speak the language), he's doing stuff I'm pretty fond of which is aggressive overtaking.

Yay for Scott Speed, I think it's great to have an American in the F1 GP too (as a driver on the grid and not as the 3rd/4th or test driver typish kind of guy)

I'm just happy with kimi's result. P22 (well technically P21 since Monteiro started from the pit lane) to P3. Reminiscent of Suzuka '05. Kimi never ceases to amaze me with just how fast he can go on a heavier fuel load than anyone else. Rosberg also showed some pretty big balls for a rookie. Good stuff.

But then Kimi only made 3 passes, all other progressions were made through the fact that he stayed out when everyone else went in (he only had 1 pit stop)

But never the less it's a great achievement.

I'm shocked that I'm thinking this but, holy shit on a stick Max may have, for once, done something right. (regarding V8's and the qualy set up)

I think Kimi made alot more then 3 on track passes, didn't get get upto 11th within the first couple laps?

IMO, Kimi is by far the fastest driver in F1 right now, he can take his car forwards with a completely full tank of gas (being 1 stop) and pass so many people, thats unreal. Kimi seems to be the only driver capable of doing 1 stops effectively, he did it a couple times last year I think, everyone else is afraid (DC did it this race, but I am talking front runners).

hence the notion that everyone else had 2 or more pit stops (or spun out, caught fire, or never made it out of the garage [Albers], went into the pit at the same time as the team mate, not to forget stop and go's etc.) and Kimi had only one. Kimi was fast, but as far as I know you don't win unless you cross the finish line first.

Yes he did make quite a few passes the first few laps. And even if he did pass everyone else in the pits, he did it on very worn tires.
