Fernando Alonso was penalised by the Stewards on Friday for being dangerous driving towards Robert Doornbos during free practice. Doornbos was, according to Alonso, blocking him and thus when Alonso was able to overtake him he deliberately went slowly in front of Doornbos.
Apart from the Spaniards incident with Doornbos Alonso also overtake under yellow. Both incidents will cost him one second during qualifying.
For Alonso it will be almost impossible now to make it to the final knock-out round in qualifying.
LMAO oh the irony, I go to the beach (and go red, LMAO)
and this happens.............
Schumi to recieve same time penalty as Alonso
Michael Schumacher's hopes of taking advantage of Fernando Alonso's two-second grid penalty have been scuppered after he too was given the same penalty when he passed two cars under a red flag.
Called to the stewards after he was reported to have passed both Robert Kubica and, interestingly, Fernando Alonso, under the red flag when Jenson Button's engine expired, Schumacher will receive the same crippling penalty as his title rival, something that is likely to pitch him down the field on the grid on a circuit that is very difficult to overtake on.
With the stewards seemingly eager to set an example, Schumacher will also have two seconds added onto his time at the end of each session and sets up a potentially tantalising mid-field scrap between both the German and Alonso.
Felipe Massa, Giancarlo Fisichella and the two McLarens are now favourite to dispute pole position.
